Drinking With A Decorator – Moscow Mule

Hey Party People! Well, that was quite the week…..in the words of Rhianna – work, work, work, work, work! I’m finishing up my last 2 weeks of design school for the year and that means massive – you wouldn’t believe it – very cool – final projects.

Friday calls for a drink! (and Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – why discriminate?)

Thanks be to Queen Oprah for introducing me to the Moscow Mule in the first place. Super refreshing, but with a spicy kick – they were all the rage when we were backpacking in Thailand, you could even buy them at the 7-11 🙂 The best one I ever had was at a duty-free kiosk at Heathrow though…weird, right?

One of my favourite parts about making cocktails is that you get to have some fun with them, tweaking to your personal satisfaction. Practise makes perfect!

Here’s how I make ours:

Moscow Mule

  • Pour 1 ounce (…or so…) of vodka over lots of ice
  • Add the juice from half a lime to a whole lime (I like mine really limey!)
  • Mix in a good ½ cup of ginger beer
  • Garnish with a few fresh mint leaves and the spent lime

Interior Decorators…we take on your design dilemmas so you don’t have to. We need a drink now and then!

In a couple of weeks 😉 – I’ll give you the details of the kitchen I designed for a sexy and single chef living in London, England!

Yours in Décor,

Delightful! I think my martini bar needs to vacate and make room for a Moscow Mule bar! Fantastic pic 🙂 Cheers to the weekend!

That sounds really good, , out with mojito’s– in with Moscow mules. Do I need the special glasses too.
    Thanks for sharing

You don’t need copper mugs…but they are very pants! Moscow Mules historically and traditionally are served in copper mugs.
